SOpHomores
The purpose of Sophomore Research is to introduce students to the excitement of science research. In the Sophomore Year, students will take courses in Research Methods and Research Projects as sophomores. These are electives in which students are taught to solve various scientific problems by performing hands-on activities.
The sophomore year culminates in a schoolwide science fair where students showcase their talents for the school community.
Students from this elite track will then be given the opportunity to apply to become members of Midwood’s Science Research Program. Those students will be presented the opportunity to volunteer in top New York City research laboratories as juniors culminating in the completion of an original research project.
